We heard rumors that SiÅs is not even close to any agreement with Opsahl Bolig about the use of Nedre Pentagonvei as a construction road. Therefore, we consider the cutting this weekend as a hasty attempt and strategic choice to present SiÅs and NMBU with a ‘fait accompli’ (accomplished facts). There are less arguments to reject the agreement once the forest is destroyed, could be the reasoning of Opsahl and the property owners.

Support the defense of Vollskogen and ask SiÅs via email (postmottak@sias.no; utleie@sias.no; marit.raaf@sias.no; posten@sias.no) to reject the road use agreement, to stop the cutting, and to take a stance against deceptive corporate strategies. til min beklagelse har jeg lagt merke til hogsten av Vollskogen i helgen, en skog som er og alltid har vært viktig for mange studenter. Av dette og flere andre grunner er jeg imot utbyggingen av Ås Hageby.

Jeg har også hørt at det ikke har vært noen avtale om bruk av Nedre Pentagonvei som byggeanlegg mellom SiÅs, NMBU og Opsahl Bolig. Denne forhastede kuttingen får meg til å tro at Opsahl presser både dere og universitetet til avtalen ved å presentere dere med fullførte fakta.

Jeg har videre lagt merke til Viken Skogs manglende innsats for å tilrettelegge for dyreliv eller salamandere, slik det kreves i reguleringsplanen. Dokumentasjonen fra vollskogenlever! gruppa viser dessuten manglende omsorg for fuglenes reirkasser og lovlig beskyttede trær.

Som bekymret student ber jeg deg om å avvise enhver avtale med Opsahl Bolig om bruk av Nedre Pentagonvei og gjør alt for å stoppe ytterligere hogsten. Det er fortsatt mange alternativer for denne skogen. Til slutt ber jeg dere om å komme med en offentlig uttalelse om denne saken der dere tar et tydelig standpunkt mot Opsahls strategi, fordi den ligner på lignende saker som nylig ble avdekket av NRK-undersøkelser.

Dear people from SiÅs,

To my regret I have noticed the cutting of Vollskogen on the weekend, a forest which is and has always been important to many students. For this and for several other reasons, I oppose the development of Ås Hageby.

I have also heard, that there has not been any agreement about the use of Nedre Pentagonvei as a construction road between SiÅs, NMBU and Opsahl Bolig. This behasted cutting leads me to believe that Opsahl is pressuring both you and the university into the agreement by strategically presenting you with accomplished facts.

I have further noticed Viken Skog’s absent effort to facilitate for wildlife or salamanders, as is required in the regulation plan. The documentation provided by vollskogenlever! group moreover shows the lack of care towards birds’ nestboxes and legally protected trees.

As a concerned student I ask you to reject any agreement with Opsahl Bolig about the use of Nedre Pentagonvei and to do everything in your hands to stop the cutting. There are still plenty of alternatives for this forest. Finally, I ask you to provide a public statement about this case in which you take a clear stance against Opsahl’s strategy, as it resembles similar cases recently uncovered by NRK investigations.
